Juan didn't learn food safety from a binder. He learned it running quality programs in Miami food plants, answering auditors' questions himself.
After starting his career in process and quality analysis in Colombia, Juan moved into the U.S. food industry in 2016 as Quality Control Supervisor at a Miami seafood processor, working under SQF, FDA and USDA requirements and auditing suppliers.
In 2018 he joined a bakery manufacturer in Miami as QC Supervisor and SQF Practitioner, and from 2021 to 2024 he was its Quality Control Manager, leading the implementation and maintenance of the plant's SQF system and FDA compliance, internal audits, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Since 2024 he has been Corporate Quality Assurance Manager for a seafood importer in Miami, responsible for labeling and certification compliance across FDA, GMP, SQF, BAP and FSSC 22000, and for auditing suppliers and co-packers. In parallel, he completed SQFI's auditor training and examination and was certified by Exemplar Global as an SQF Food Safety Auditor.
He founded JV Food Safety Consulting in 2023 to bring that combination of auditor training and plant-floor experience to food companies that need to get certified, stay certified or pass inspection.

No guarantees we can't keep
Certification bodies certify, and regulators inspect. No consultant can guarantee an audit or inspection result. We control the preparation, and we tell you plainly when a date isn't realistic.
Confidentiality & independence
Your findings, recipes, supplier lists and client names stay confidential. As consultants we never certify the sites we prepare; that is the role of an independent, accredited certification body.
